Project Description

Case Study – NutriDyn

Exinent freed NutriDyn’s online store from issues related to NetSuite and Magento integration, did a complete website makeover, and added two custom modules to the website.

About the Client

NutriDyn is a Minnesota-based dietary supplements and nutrition education provider that works directly with healthcare professionals.

The Problem

NutriDyn had used NetSuite ERP for over ten years before they migrated to Magento in September 2016. The company continued to use NetSuite as the platform for updating products and managing critical functions such as orders, inventory, and fulfillment.
The NetSuite and Magento integration didn’t go as they wanted, as it caused performance instability and serious data flow issues. It put a lot of pressure on NutriDyn’s web development team and forced them to spend a lot of time fixing bugs. The integration issues kept NutriDyn from innovating and advancing further.

The Challenges

  • Solve NetSuite and Magento integration issues

  • Streamline the website’s data flow for optimal performance

  • Speed up the website

  • Develop custom modules

Exinent’s Plan of Action

In March 2017, NutriDyn sought Exinent’s help and handed over its website maintenance to us. We planned to neutralize the complications related to the integration first and work on new features and functionalities later.

The Execution

Exinent quickly identified that NutriDyn’s development team had put the customization in the Magento core. The approach wasn’t quite right as third party integrations would work well only with out-of-the-box Magento code. We did a rigorous code review and wrote NutriDyn’s custom features as per the best practice standards and recommendations of Magento.

In order to solve website speed issues, Exinent moved NutriDyn’s website to a dedicated server and took care of it from then onwards.
We were able to stabilize the website’s functionality within a couple of months. Shortly after, our team began working on a new look for the website. The refreshing design went live on September 21, 2017. By December 2017, Exinent added two custom modules to NutriDyn, which are Practiot and NutriScript.

The Result

NutriDyn’s NetSuite and Magento integration woes were solved. The speed and reliability of the website were improved drastically, resulting in a sharp rise of web traffic and conversions. The two custom modules, Nutridyn practioner connect and NutriScript, helped NutriDyn scale its business further.
